BRITE Internship Requirements

BRITE undergraduate students entering their junior years are required to complete a paid summer internship to gain important hands-on industry experience integral to their development as future scientists.

Prior to an internship, it is recommended that students complete at least two of the following four courses with a grade of “B” or above:

  • Biochemistry lecture and lab
  • Quantitative Analysis
  • Bioanalytical Chemistry (Instrumentation)
  • Techniques

Students are required to complete a Biochemistry lecture and lab prior to the internship and must take Bioanalytical Chemistry or Techniques to complete the internship. It is possible to complete all four courses prior to the summer of the internship. If a student does not complete minimum course requirements by the end of the junior year, the courses must be taken during summer sessions (dependent upon availability).

Consideration for placement will also be based upon completion of a work-aid assignment with a BRITE faculty member.

Students must submit a resume and participate in a mock interview session with the BRITE Director and Industry Relations Manager.
